The AccessibleEU European Event - Empowering AccessibleEU National Experts: Collaborating with Disabled and Older People's Organizations (24-WS-EU-04)
This webinar aimed to equip national experts and members of the AccessibleEU community of practice with the tools and knowledge they need to collaborate with organizations representing the interests of people with disabilities and older people, so that they can develop their activities.
Silvio Gil Martins says that the Center is made up of a network of 34 national experts who serve as focal points and antennas for the Center in each EU Member State.
500 new members in the community of practice, which is made up of accessibility and disability experts.
It is essential that the national experts and community of practice involve groups that directly benefit from accessibility, such as people with disabilities and older adults.
1- Understanding the role of disabled people's organizations and older people's organizations
Julia Wadoux, AGE Platform Europe, and Alejandro Moledo, European Disability Forum, will present a comprehensive overview of disabled people's organizations and older people's organizations, their roles, challenges and impact in shaping accessibility policies and initiatives.
2- Collaboration: AccessibleEU national experts / disabled people's organizations / older people's organizations
Guillaume Dufresne, technical expert at AccessibleEU, explained where the contribution of disabled people's organizations and older people's organizations is crucial to the work of AccessibleEU and what AccessibleEU can offer them.
2.1- Steli Peteva, AccessibleEU National Expert in Bulgaria, and Pär Lannerö, AccessibleEU National Expert in Sweden, will share their experience, achievements and challenges working with disabled people's organizations and older people's organizations.
2.3- Wouter Boiler, Ieder(in) - Netherlands, and Rodd Bond, Active Retirement Ireland, will talk about practical guidance and best practices for engaging with disabled people's organizations and older people's organizations.
