AI and its applications on the frontier route
Advantages of AI and its applications in Architecture and Civil Engineering
On 06/13/2024, Sílvio Gil Martins attended the webinar Advanced Techniques in the Architecture Sector.
Luís Penã, PhD in Artificial Intelligence, highlighted some advantages of AI and its applications in Architecture and Civil Engineering and
highlighted some concepts of application of AI.
The concepts are as follows:
Information management
Energy Efficiency
Documentation Processing

Sílvio Gil Martins says that three concepts are important and are an asset for the Tur4all and accessible border route of Raia/La Raia
It is a border of 1,214 km in length and approximately 120 km on each side of the border, which accounts for more than five million people, accounting for ten districts of Portugal and seven provinces of Spain.
1-Information management
Enables large volumes of information Capture knowledge: This goal can be achieved by creating repositories of structured information in documents, memos, reports, presentations, manuals, and articles, which can be easily retrieved as needed.
1.1- Improving access to knowledge: this purpose depends on facilitating its access and transfer between people
Improving the organizational environment: creating policies to encourage the sharing of knowledge among people
1.2- Valuing available knowledge: some organizations are including intellectual capital in their balance sheets, while others are leveraging the asset to generate new forms of revenue, reduce costs, and innovate.
2- Energy efficiency
Some of the key applications of AI include the methodology for forecasting power generation and consumption. By combining historical data from weather forecasts and observed generation, you can optimize and combine catalogs to develop an AI model to generate more accurate estimates to perform simulations of a building that entails finding the best solution for a given climate.
3- Documentation processing
There is a huge amount of rules and regulations governing building control, which affects the degree and nature of accessibility assessment and the overall quality and usability of buildings.
AI has a high capacity to analyze large volumes of legal data. So, while it takes a person hours to read and select documents correlated to the case, the AI takes milliseconds.
